God, what do You want to build through me?
A story of ambition, surrender, and the shift from pressure to presence.
Outer Field Post — For conscious leaders building without betraying their soul
Grind. Hustle. Push. Make it happen.
For most of my life, those weren’t just cultural slogans.
They were my inner commandments.
As a Type A builder, I didn’t wait for signs.
I forced momentum when none existed.
I chased success with speed and precision.
And it worked—until it didn’t.
In 2019, something cracked open.
Not in my business. In my inner ear.
That year, I began hearing something beneath the striving.
A whisper.
A question.
A strategy I didn’t recognize yet as sacred:
“Wait to respond.”
It was a seed first planted by my brother and mentor, AJ Amyx, in April 2018:
“You’re designed to ride your emotional wave to clarity—then act.”
At the time, I nodded politely. But I didn’t get it.
Until spring of 2019.
I left a meeting with a dream client. My whole system screamed: This is it. Say yes.
But my wife Jannica—wise, grounded, tuned—gently offered:
“Pause. Let the wave pass.”
That pause changed everything.
Not just my decision-making.
My direction.
⸻
Since then, “waiting to respond” has become more than strategy.
It’s become surrender.
Not a delay tactic. Not passivity.
But a sacred commitment:
I will not move unless moved.
And here’s what no one tells you:
Waiting without surrender… is just anxiety with good posture.
It’s chasing cars while pretending to trust the delivery.
It’s praying for peace while scrolling for proof.
⸻
Surrender isn’t apathy.
It’s coherence.
It’s cadence.
It’s choosing to paddle only when the current aligns.
Not upstream. Not out of fear.
It’s building from resonance. Not performance.
From trust. Not timeline.
From rhythm. Not relevance.
⸻
I no longer build to prove.
I build from prayer. From stillness. From knowing I’m already enough.
My business isn’t a brand. It’s an altar.
Each offer is a stone placed with love:
“This is who I am. If you feel the resonance, come sit.”
And money? It flows—not from force.
But from flow.
From the deep remembrance:
I am not the source. I am the signal.
⸻
So I ask daily, hourly, breath by breath:
“God, what do You want to build through me?”
And then I wait.
I listen.
I ride the wave.
And I respond.

Sweet words to my inner ear 🥰
